Municipality in El Priorat, located in the southern part of the region, sheltered by the Montsant Mountains, at 743 metres above sea level. For a long time La Morera was the largest municipality in the region.

The municipality also includes the populated centre of Escaladei located 5km away from La Morera.

The town lives on agriculture although an 85% of the territory is waste land. The chief crops are vine , cereal and almond and hazelnut trees.

The rural depopulation has been lately compensated with the starting of tourism initiatives (restaurants, hotels, farm houses...).

Owing to the impulse of the wine from El Priorat there have been open some private wine cellars.
